Join the Close Brothers Vehicle Hire (CBVH) team where you will assist the delivery of the month-end management accounts process, variance analysis, forecasting and budgeting activities, and the maintenance of strong financial controls. The role provides analytical support to senior finance stakeholders and acts as a key link between finance and operational and commercial teams, helping to improve understanding of financial performance, margins, costs and asset utilisation.
Working as part of the Finance team, onsite in Ilkeston, our ideal team member will have previous experience delivering accurate, timely and insightful management information to enable effective decision making across the business.
Responsibilities- Support the preparation of accurate, timely management accounts to assist month-end reporting and financial analysis.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities, contributing input to periodic reviews and longer-term planning.
- Analyse variances against budget and forecast, helping to identify drivers and summarise findings for review.
- Produce and maintain management information and reports to support finance and operational decision-making.
- Help interpret financial data and translate it into clear, accessible insights for finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- Work closely with senior finance colleagues to improve reporting quality, controls and process efficiency.
- Review existing processes and reports to identify routine errors, inefficiencies or opportunities for improvement.
- Resolve day-to-day accounting and reporting queries with guidance, escalating more complex issues as required.
- Build effective working relationships across finance, operational and commercial teams to ensure accurate information flow.
- Support audit, banking or group finance requests by preparing data and documentation when required.
- Qualified or part-qualified Accountant (ACCA or CIMA).
- A strong track record of delivering effective reporting under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated collaboration with and influencing others across functional and geographic boundaries.
- A keen interest in business performance and a questioning mind to appreciate and challenge both current business performance as well as forecast and strategic performance.
- Ability to prioritise and handle a wide range of business-as-usual and development activities simultaneously.
- Ownership of resolving issues with any development intervention or follow-up as necessary.
- Excellent communication skills, able to translate financial performance into clear and simple key messages.
