Join Close Brothers Motor Finance Team where you will be responsible for designing and delivering the sales capability strategy across the organisation, ensuring sales teams are equipped with the knowledge, skills, tools, and confidence to perform at their highest level. Working as part of the Sale Optimisation team our ideal team member will have previous experience in Sales Enablement, Sales Training, or Commercial Capability Development with excellent stakeholder management skills.
Responsibilities
- Sales Learning Strategy & Curriculum Design
- Design, maintain and deliver the annual sales learning and enablement roadmap aligned to business objectives and financial year priorities.
- Develop structured learning pathways for different sales roles and career stages.
- Build and manage a scalable sales curriculum covering onboarding, technical knowledge, value proposition articulation, consultative selling, and sales competency frameworks.
- Design, maintain and deliver clear training pillars for the sales organisation, against our defined capability framework and four pillar proposition.
- Own and continuously improve/deliver the end‑to‑end sales induction programme for new starters.
- Ensure onboarding accelerates time‑to‑productivity and embeds core company knowledge, sales methodology, and cultural expectations.
- Partner with sales leaders to support role‑specific onboarding needs.
- Sales Competency Framework & Capability Development
- Define and maintain sales competency models across teams and levels.
- Assess capability gaps and design targeted development interventions.
- Support managers with coaching frameworks and reinforcement tools to embed learning.
- Value Proposition & Messaging Enablement
- Develop training that ensures sales teams deeply understand and can confidently articulate the company’s value proposition.
- Translate product, market, and customer insights into effective sales learning content.
- Partner with product, marketing, and leadership teams to ensure messaging remains relevant and competitive.
- Measurement & Continuous Improvement
- Define success metrics for enablement initiatives, including adoption, learner engagement, competency progression, and business impact.
- Gather feedback and performance insights to continuously improve programmes.
- Report on enablement effectiveness to the Head of Sales Optimisation and senior stakeholders.

- Proven experience in Sales Enablement, Sales Training, or Commercial Capability Development.
- Experience designing and implementing structured sales learning programmes and curricula.
- Strong understanding of sales methodologies, competency frameworks, and adult learning principles.
- Experience leading onboarding and induction programmes.
- Ability to translate complex value propositions into compelling sales enablement content.
- Strong facilitation and presentation skills.
- Experience measuring training effectiveness and linking enablement to commercial outcomes.
- Stakeholder management and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE:
- Experience within financial services or regulated commercial environments is highly desirable.
- Demonstratable evidence of accreditation in a training or coaching environment.
