Join Close Brothers Retail Team where you will act as the central point of governance expertise for Retail, influencing senior stakeholders, driving improvements in governance effectiveness and providing insight that supports strategic decision-making across the Retail business.
Working as part of the Controls office our ideal team member will have previous experience in understanding of risk management, governance and control frameworks within financial services with excellent stakeholder management skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Governance and Reporting
- Lead the monthly production of governance reporting and risk packs for:
- Retail Risk & Compliance Committee (RRCC)
- Close Brothers Motor Finance (CBMF) Risk Forum
- Close Brothers Premium Finance (CBPF) Risk Forum
- Savings Risk Forum
- Additional governance forums as required
- Ensure reporting is accurate, complete, timely and reflects current risk and control performance.
- Coordinate, challenge and validate inputs from relevant business, risk and compliance stakeholders to ensure reporting accurately reflects the Retail risk profile
- Support the effective operation of Retail governance forums through agenda planning, minute-taking, action tracking and meeting coordination when needed
- Support the reporting governance of the Retail Quality Assurance Team
- Support the preparation of governance information required for internal audit, regulatory reviews, regulatory requests and external assurance activity
- Risk Analysis and Insight
- Analyse risk data, management information, issues and risk events to identify key themes, emerging risks and trends.
- Develop and enhance reporting dashboards and management information to improve oversight and decision-making.
- Monitor risk profile changes and escalate significant concerns where appropriate.
- Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to enhance governance processes, reporting effectiveness and data quality.
- Support implementation of changes to governance frameworks, reporting methodologies and control processes.
- Risk and Compliance
- Ensure that all Governance and Compliance requirements are adhered to and all reporting and reviewing activities required by the Regulatory Bodies are carried out to the standards required.

WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE/ARE
- Strong understanding of risk management, governance and control frameworks within financial services.
- Demonstrable experience operating governance frameworks within a regulated financial services environment
- Experience producing executive-level governance reporting and management information.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and communicate key messages clearly.
- Experience supporting risk committees, governance forums or similar oversight bodies.
- Experience presenting governance reporting and risk insight to senior leadership committees
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to demanding deadlines.
IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE
- Knowledge of Retail Banking, Motor Finance, Premium Finance or Savings products.
- Understanding of regulatory and conduct risk requirements within UK financial services.
- Experience using reporting and data visualisation tools.
- Professional Risk, Compliance or Governance qualification
