Join the Close Brothers Payment Services Team where you will monitor, reconcile, analyse, and process all incoming and outgoing payments for the business, oversight is provided by Finance. Working as part of the Payment Services team our ideal team member will have previous experience in ensuring positive outcomes for both customers and partners at every interaction with excellent attention to detail.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Processing of inbound and outbound payments
  • Checking and Processing payment requests using an online banking portal
  • Daily new business payouts to our dealer and broker partners
  • Daily Exception Reporting and resolving any errors highlighted in the report
  • Daily Direct Debit Processing
  • Conducting secondary checks of overpayments and refunds prior to payment
  • Settlement Excess – working the weekly report refunding any money due to customers
  • Reconciliation of all cash books UK, Ireland and Channel Islands:
  • Daily Cash and card payment input and reconciliation
  • Bank Reconciliation and Analysis
  • New Business Contra input and reconciliation
  • Suspense Account reconciliation includes tracing and allocation of funds and return to sender
  • Monitoring, reporting and associated administration:
  • Posting payments received
  • Handle general queries – Telephone/email/post from internal and external contacts
  • Customer Credit Referencing Agency (CRA) records are updated online in live
  • Scanning and banking cheques received
  • Any other ad hoc tasks as required by the business.
  • Ensure that all Governance and Compliance requirements/controls, for example segregation of duties or four eyed checks are adhered to and all reporting and checking activities required by the Regulatory Bodies are carried out to the standards required.

  • Highly organised and numerate
  • Flexible and able to cope well in a high-pressured environment
  • The ability to work well as part of a team and on your own
  • The ability to concentrate on figures for long periods of time and work to strict deadlines
  • Strong MS Excel skills
  • Willing to learn and develop

IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE:

  • Previous analysis/banking reconciliation, general bookkeeping, or exposure in basic accounting
