Position Overview: We are seeking a proactive and results-driven Sales Manager to join our team. The core principle of this role is to drive and grow the revenue of the business through strategic sales leadership, new business acquisition, and effective management of the sales team. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Sales Manager will play a vital role in increasing revenue, optimising the sales process, and contributing to the overall profitability of the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Strategy Development & Execution: Develop and implement a clear and actionable sales strategy focused on growing revenue and market share. Identify high-potential customer segments, including both private and public healthcare markets, and focus on expanding the company’s footprint. Drive business development efforts by targeting new opportunities, enhancing customer acquisition, and expanding sales from existing clients. Explore new sales channels and partnership opportunities to expand reach and visibility.
- Sales Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and develop the existing sales team to align their efforts with the revenue growth objectives of the business. Provide guidance and support to the team, ensuring they have the tools, training, and resources needed to succeed. Foster a collaborative and high-performance sales culture within the team.
- Hands-on Sales Activities: Personally manage key accounts and engage in direct sales activities, including meetings, negotiations, and closing deals. Build and maintain strong relationships with healthcare providers, hospitals, distributors, and other key stakeholders to ensure repeat business and customer loyalty. Seek out and capitalize on upselling and cross-selling opportunities within the existing customer base.
- Sales Performance Monitoring: Set clear sales targets and KPIs, continuously tracking performance to ensure targets are being met and exceeded. Regularly report progress and sales performance to the Board of Directors, using data-driven insights to refine and optimise the sales strategy. Track key metrics, including sales forecasts, conversion rates, and client retention, to ensure targets are met. Assess and adjust the sales approach based on performance metrics and market conditions to ensure continued growth.
- Collaboration with Other Departments: Work closely with the marketing team to align sales and marketing initiatives for lead generation and product promotion. Collaborate with the production and finance teams to ensure smooth order processing, delivery, and pricing strategies.
- Market Intelligence & Competitor Analysis: Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activities, and market changes to ensure the company’s products are positioned effectively for maximum sales. Provide regular feedback to the Board of Directors on market opportunities and potential areas for revenue growth.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Proven experience (3+ years) in a senior sales role, ideally within the healthcare, medical devices, or B2B sectors.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute sales strategies that lead to revenue growth.
- Strong leadership and team management experience, with a focus on coaching and developing sales talent.
- In-depth understanding of the healthcare sector, including both private and public markets.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Proficient in sales forecasting, reporting, and performance management.
- Experience with CRM software and sales management tools.
- Experience with both direct sales and channel partnerships such as distributors and contract manufacturing.
- Familiarity with healthcare procurement processes and public sector sales.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision making.
Compensation: We offer a competitive salary, ranging from £45,000 to £50,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications. In addition to the salary, a performance-based bonus will be available tied to the successful acquisition of new business and growth in revenue. Further incentivising success, the role includes a commission structure on any direct new sales, rewarding the individual for increasing revenue and driving new business. The successful candidate will also receive a comprehensive benefits package, which includes: Workplace Pension scheme, 45p Mileage Allowance (as applicable), Professional development opportunities, 28 days holidays.
This role presents a unique challenge with the opportunity to make a significant impact on the company's future direction, working closely with the Board of Directors to drive sustainable sales performance and profitability.
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. In-person role based at our Northern Ireland office. This is a full-time, in-person position, where you will be expected to drive sales activities and interact with the team and clients directly to maximise revenue growth. Some travel to meet with clients or attend industry events and exhibitions will be required.
