We're looking for a Senior Prosecutions Lawyer to join our Legal Services team and play a key role in managing complex criminal and regulatory enforcement matters across our business. This is a unique opportunity to work on high-profile cases involving environmental law, regulatory compliance, and criminal proceedings, while helping to shape legal strategy within one of the UK's largest regulated utilities.

What you'll be doing:

  • Managing prosecution and regulatory enforcement matters from investigation through to conclusion
  • Representing the business in Magistrates' Courts and, where required, Crown Courts
  • Advising senior stakeholders on criminal, environmental, and regulatory matters
  • Working closely with regulators including the Environment Agency and other enforcement bodies
  • Supporting legal risk management and regulatory compliance initiatives
  • Mentoring colleagues and contributing to the development of legal best practice across the business

What we're looking for:

  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or FCILEX professional
  • Significant post-qualification experience in criminal law, prosecutions, defence, or regulatory enforcement
  • Court advocacy experience in criminal matters
  • Strong understanding of environmental and regulatory law
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
