Our client, a leading global supplier based in Chertsey, Surrey, is seeking a highly skilled Senior IT Administrator to join their IT department on a permanent, full-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing 1st, 2nd, and 3rd line support to internal users, troubleshooting network connectivity issues, and maintaining key IT systems including Microsoft 365 and legacy web applications. You will need to diagnose and resolve technical incidents efficiently, ensuring minimal disruption to operations. Additionally, the role involves scripting, database management, and supporting the company's IT infrastructure in line with industry best practices. The ideal candidate should have a background in IT support within a manufacturing or automotive environment and possess a proactive approach to developing and maintaining robust IT solutions.

Skills Required

  • Hands-on experience or strong working knowledge of T-SQL for data retrieval, basic troubleshooting, and report writing
  • Familiarity with ASP Classic / VBScript, with the ability to debug and make minor modifications
  • Proven experience providing 1st and 2nd line support, with exposure to 3rd line support
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking, including DNS, DHCP, routing, and connectivity troubleshooting
  • Experience administering Microsoft 365, including domain management, email routing, and user provisioning
  • Experience with Active Directory and Azure AD management
  • Familiarity with helpdesk ticketing systems such as Freshdesk, Jira, or Zendesk, and ITIL principles
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft fundamentals are advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills, methodical problem-solving abilities, and a strong willingness to learn and adapt
