Role Summary
Reporting to a Partner, you will be involved in the delivery of tax compliance and advisory services for a portfolio of some of the most wealthy and exciting entrepreneurial businesses across our region. The delivery of your work will be supplemented using cutting-edge technology to enhance efficiencies and client delivery.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities- Advise clients on a wide variety of personal, corporate and advisory tax issues
- Undertake corporation tax compliance including reviewing and finalising draft tax computations produced by the audit and accounts teams, raise queries internally and externally with clients.
- Allocate and manage assignments to team members
- Review team members work
- If desirable, assist the partner with a variety of tax projects including trust and inheritance tax planning work, R&D claims and corporate restructuring work
- Provide guidance, training and support to both tax colleagues and wider team members on a variety of tax issues
- Organise and deliver tax training sessions for the whole firm on a variety of tax issues
- Research technical tax matters for the partners
- Attend internal team audit meetings, acting as a liaison to share relevant information
- Attend pre and post year end planning meetings for relevant clients as requested
- Be proactive and participate in team meetings, share knowledge and ideas
- Attend client meetings and external events where appropriate
- Attend networking events with solicitors and other referrers
- Demonstrate and promote the firm’s values, leading by example and where appropriate discussing the values with team members who do not demonstrate them
- Undertake relevant CPD to maintain technical knowledge and remain up to date with any industry and economic changes
- Make suggestions for updating and improving the department and the firm’s systems and processes
- The above list of duties is not exhaustive, and the post holder will be required to undertake such tasks as may reasonably be expected within the scope and grading of the role
- CTA preferred or ACA/ACCA/CA with demonstratable experience.
- Relevant experience in a similar level role gained within practice

- Be flexible and proactive in managing multiple priorities
- Experience of managing a team
- Knowledge of specialist tax areas including but not limited to trusts, IHT, corporation tax, residency, corporate reorganisations
- Knowledge of tax systems, including CCH and Iris
