We are recruiting for the following position for our Durham office. Type: Full Time/Permanent
ROLE PROFILE – AUDIT & ACCOUNTS ASSOCIATE (TRAINEE)

What you’ll be doing:
- Prepare accounts using modern systems like Sage, Xero and QuickBooks
- Support onsite audits as part of the audit team, learning from experienced colleagues
- Draft corporation tax computations and assist with client queries
- Review and action points raised by managers and tax colleagues
- Act as a point of contact for clients on ad‑hoc matters
- Visit clients across the region and build strong professional relationships
What we’re looking for:
- We value enthusiasm and potential – not just experience
- AAT Level 3/4, or a degree, or 2 A Levels at A*‑C (or equivalent)
- Willingness to learn and ambition to build a career in accountancy
- Strong communication skills – confident with clients face‑to‑face, on the phone and by email
- Good IT (Excel is your friend)
- Eye for detail and ability to check work thoroughly
- Proactive problem solver with good organisational skills
- Flexible, adaptable and able to manage multiple priorities
- Willingness to travel to client sites
Nice to have:
- Relevant accounts or audit experience
- Familiarity with accountancy software (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, Iris)
