At CLIQ, we’re on a mission to bring people together in the real world. Forget endless swiping and small talk that goes nowhere, our app helps people discover events, meet like-minded individuals, and join communities that matter. We’ve launched the first version of the app and early users are already building connections. Now we’re looking for a founding full-stack engineer to help us take CLIQ to the next level. You’ll be building features that people use every day to find their next gig, match, or meetup, and shaping the technical foundation of a product designed for scale.
What You’ll Do
- Architect, build, test, and ship features across frontend, backend, and infrastructure.
- Define technical standards, architecture, and engineering culture that will scale with the product.
- Build features like event creation, map-based discovery, and in-app notifications, quickly incorporating user feedback.
- Partner with founders, designers, and early team members to turn product ideas into a seamless experience.
- Ensure reliability, performance, and security as we grow user adoption.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong full-stack background with Node.js, TypeScript, React, and ideally React Native.
- Experience with frameworks/tooling like Express, GraphQL, Vite, React Query, Context API, and modern CSS frameworks.
- Solid understanding of API design, databases, and cloud deployments.
- Experience taking products from zero to one, ideally in a startup environment.
- A builder’s mindset: pragmatic, hands-on, and motivated by ownership.
Nice to Have
- Experience with mobile app build and release pipelines (App Store, Play Store).
- Familiarity with CI/CD, Docker, and cloud-native workflows (ideally in GCP).
- A track record of building B2C products where user experience, engagement, and scalability are front and centre.
- Comfort balancing UX with performance in consumer-facing apps.
