Reporting to the Area Supervisor and Snow Operations Managers, the Snow Removal Operator will be responsible for operating heavy equipment to lift, push, and move snow to certain areas or into trucks for removal. This position requires the successful applicant to work on an on-call basis with irregular hours between mid-November and the end of March each year. Applicants must be available and committed to work with very short notice at all times of the day and night using a variety of tools and equipment.
Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
- Must be on-call/standby and available 24/7 for snow and ice events.
- Operate heavy equipment to lift, push and move snow to designated areas or into trucks for removal.
- Follow established routes and schedules to ensure timely and efficient snow removal.
- Pile snow in designated and approved areas only.
- Operate vehicles and snowplow equipment in a safe, responsible and efficient manner following all recommended operating procedures.
- Ability to work extended periods of time without direct supervision.
- Maintain effective communication throughout the snow event.
- Relay all information to supervisor as required.
- Accurately document site service records for each site including times, service performed, weather conditions, pictures, etc.
- Document and report any obstacles at site(s).
- Submit paperwork and/or documentation promptly at the end of each shift.
- Inspect, clean, lubricate and refill equipment as required.
- Keep truck and/or equipment in clean and operating order.
- Promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
- Communicate with customers in a polite and courteous manner.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned.

Education:
- Highschool Diploma or equivalent.
- Licenses as required by Federal and Provincial laws, clean drivers abstract, Reliability clearance an asset.

- Noise level in the work environment is moderate.
Compensation: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
