ClinLexis is expanding its commercial team and is seeking a Business Development Manager to lead engagement with law firms, chambers, and expert witness practices across the UK. The role is responsible for identifying target firms, leading client conversations, running product demonstrations, and managing relationships from initial contact through to long-term contract. The successful candidate will own the commercial pipeline end-to-end, work closely with the founding team, and play a central role in how ClinLexis develops its presence across the medico-legal market.
What you'll do
- Build and own a qualified pipeline of solicitors, chambers, and expert witness practices across personal injury, clinical negligence, and adjacent practice areas.
- Lead outbound engagement across email, LinkedIn, industry events, and professional referrals, and convert inbound interest into qualified opportunities.
- Deliver product demonstrations, scoping calls, and pilot proposals tailored to each firm's case profile.
- Negotiate pilot terms and convert successful pilots into committed long-term contracts.
- Maintain the CRM as the single source of truth, with accurate pipeline forecasting and conversion reporting.
- Coordinate onboarding and pilot check-ins to maintain momentum and protect conversion.
- Feed market intelligence, client objections, and feature requests back into product and commercial planning.
- Represent ClinLexis at conferences, chambers events, and in-person meetings, with occasional UK travel.
What we're looking for
- UK-based, with the right to work in the UK.
- Demonstrable B2B sales or business development track record, ideally selling into legal, professional services, healthcare, or regulated industries.
- Confident leading discovery and demonstrations with senior stakeholders, including partners, clerks, and consultant experts.
- Excellent written and spoken English, with a professional and credible tone suited to legal buyers.
- Highly organised, disciplined about CRM hygiene, and comfortable carrying a commercial target.
- Genuine interest in AI, legaltech, and the medico-legal sector.
- Self-directed, capable of operating with autonomy and sound commercial judgement.
- Strong judgement on when to advance an opportunity, when to hold, and when to step back.
