Field Clinical Nurse Advisor – Continence Care & Training

Employing over 800 people in the UK, China and India, we supply our products to the NHS and deliver direct to patients’ homes through Nightingale Home Delivery, our dispensing appliance contractor.

We work directly with NHS trusts and clinicians across the UK to support their patients manage their bladder and bowel conditions. We also support thousands of patients with the delivery of their continence prescription products through our specialist Nightingale home delivery service.

We have two roles; one covering the North of England and one covering the South of England.

Role summary

In conjunction with the Heath of Clinical and Education and the Consumer Team, the Clinical Advisor contributes to delivering a high standard of care to individuals with complex bladder and bowel needs within the Care and Residential Home setting. The roles are field based and provide support to care homes by delivering appliance reviews, clinical assessments and staff training

The Nurse Advisor role facilitates educational programmes as required and will promote Clinisupplies home delivery service for individuals requiring specialist products for the management of their bladder / bowel symptoms.

Key Responsibilities

The following provides an indication of the key responsibilities involved in this role but is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all the duties that you may be required to do.

• To promote the use of Nightingale home delivery service for patients requiring specialist products appropriate to individual need.
• Complete urology appliance reviews for consumers in care and residential homes
• Deliver training to care home staff on continence care and correct product use.
• Support the Care Home Team with clinical assessments
• Attend joint visits with Care Home Managers/RBMs for onboarding and group‑level opportunities.
• Identify clinical risks and elevate appropriately.
• Actively seek potential business opportunities on behalf of the organization.
• To ensure individuals are offered a holistic assessment and their individual needs are managed appropriately.
• To work autonomously with individuals to ensure high standards of care are delivered in the promotion of continence and management of incontinence
• To undertake clinical procedures, investigations, or interventions competently whilst maintaining a safe, dignified, and confidential environment for the client
• To participate in delivering training for the development of others
• To maintain a high standard of professional competency within a framework of clinical governance
• To always maintain a professional attitude in the best interest of the clients and professionals in accordance with the NMC Code of Conduct
• To maintain accurate and comprehensive clinical record keeping
• To produce reports when requested by the Head of Clinical and Education or ELT
• To participate in clinical audit to review and monitor service activity.
• To ensure quality, standards which improve the clients experience and outcomes are implemented.
• Maintain personal development to provide a high level of specialist care and support, in accordance with NMC requirements.
• Attend regular meetings with Clinical Nurse Managers and participate in personal development review as requested.
• Attend meetings as required at Clinisupplies’.

Professional

• Registered Nurse
• Post registration experience within a urology / continence environment
• First level degree in a health-related subject or working towards
• Demonstrable experience of teaching or delivering training.
• Qualification and /or evidence of working with adults who have continence challenges
• Experience of working in a commercial healthcare environment
• Demonstrate an understanding of audit processes.
• Have knowledge of home delivery services for specialist products / DAC
