We are looking for a Scientific Lead to serve as a scientific advisor within Clinigma's Science team. This is a senior role designed for someone who brings exceptional methodological depth, scientific judgment, and the ability to guide complex qualitative and mixed-methods research at the highest level. Working closely with the CSO, you will contribute to scientific direction, guide complex qualitative and mixed-methods programmes, and help advance how we generate and apply patient experience evidence.
What you’ll do:
- Lead the scientific direction of qualitative and mixed-methods research projects, ensuring methodological rigor, innovation, and impact from study design through dissemination.
- Act as senior scientific advisor to clients, providing strategic guidance on evidence-generation approaches, study design, patient experience data collection, and interpretation of research findings.
- Lead the development and advancement of Clinigma's scientific methodologies, frameworks, and best practices ensuring the organization remains at the forefront of patient-centred research.
- Identify emerging trends, regulatory and methodological developments relevant to patient experience evidence, translating these into enhancements to Clinigma's scientific approach, capabilities, and service offerings.
- Contribute to business growth through scientific leadership in proposals, client discussions, strategic opportunities, and the development of new service offerings.
- Mentor and develop scientific talent across the organization, fostering a culture of scientific excellence, critical thinking, and continuous learning.
- Represent Clinigma externally through publications, conference presentations, workshops, thought leadership activities, and strategic partnerships, maintaining a recognised profile within the patient-centred outcomes and evidence-generation community and strengthening Clinigma's reputation as a scientific leader.
- Work closely with the CSO and scientific team, contributing senior scientific expertise to research strategy, methodology decisions, and the ongoing development of Clinigma's scientific capabilities.
What we're looking for:
- Advanced degree (PhD, MD, PharmD, MSc, or equivalent) in life sciences, medicine, psychology, public health, health outcomes research, or a related discipline.
- 8+ years of experience in qualitative and mixed-methods research, measurement science, patient experience evidence, clinical outcomes assessment (COA), health outcomes research, or related scientific disciplines.
- Demonstrated scientific leadership within a pharmaceutical company, CRO, consultancy, academic institution, or related healthcare organization, including mentoring multidisciplinary scientific staff and providing expert scientific guidance to internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Deep expertise in the design, conduct, interpretation, and application of qualitative research within clinical development, COA/PRO research, and patient-centred evidence generation, alongside a strong understanding of the relevant regulatory and scientific landscape, including FDA, EMA, and HTA perspectives.
- Experience designing, conducting, and overseeing qualitative research within regulated clinical trials.
- Proven ability to develop research methodologies, scientific frameworks, standards, and best practices that support high-quality, innovative research and practical evidence-generation strategies.
- Established subject-matter expertise within the patient-centred outcomes, measurement science, and evidence-generation field, demonstrated through peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations, professional leadership activities, scientific advisory contributions, or other activities that advance scientific understanding and practice.
- Strong track record of scientific communication, client-facing scientific leadership, proposal development, business development support, and translating complex scientific concepts into clear strategic recommendations.
- Experience contributing to organisational scientific strategy, capability development, or the advancement of scientific services within a consultancy, pharmaceutical, or healthcare environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
