The Role

  • Lead the Growth of Clinigen’s UK/European Clinical Supplies Business Development Function
  • Clinigen is seeking an experienced and commercially driven

Regional Business Development Lead, UK/Europe to lead, develop and shape our UK & European clinical supplies BD function.

This is a high-impact player-coach leadership role , combining personal business development responsibility with the opportunity to lead and elevate an established team of five BD professionals.

You will drive growth across the UK and Europe, develop strategic customer relationships, and introduce fresh thinking to help mature our commercial approach.

With strong existing customer relationships and significant opportunity for new business generation, this role offers the opportunity to make a visible impact within a growing global commercial organisation.

You will be responsible for

  • Driving new business development across the UK and Europe, managing your own pipeline and revenue targets.
  • Building and expanding strategic customer relationships, including re-engaging historical accounts.
  • Developing account plans and identifying opportunities for growth within key markets.
  • Leading, coaching and developing a team of five Business Development professionals.
  • Assessing team capability, territory coverage and opportunities to improve commercial performance.
  • Supporting the team on strategic customer opportunities and complex sales engagements.
  • Challenging existing ways of working and introducing new ideas to enhance the BD function.
  • Representing Clinigen at customer meetings, conferences and industry events.
  • This role will involve

60-70% individual BD activity and 30-40% team leadership , with regular travel across Europe expected.

About You

You are an experienced Business Development leader with a strong track record of selling complex solutions into pharmaceutical and biotechnology organisations.

You will ideally bring experience within

  • Clinical Supply Services
  • Clinical Packaging, Labelling or Distribution
  • CDMOs or similar service based outsourcing environments

You will have

  • 8+ years’ experience in B2B sales/business development within pharma, biotech or related industries.
  • 6+ years’ experience selling Clinical Supply or Clinical Service solutions.
  • Proven success achieving commercial targets and driving revenue growth.
  • Experience coaching, mentoring and developing BD teams.
  • Strong consultative selling skills with the ability to understand and solve complex customer needs.
  • Commercial acumen, strategic thinking and the confidence to challenge the status quo.
