Clinical Selection is partnering with a specialist medical device organisation to recruit experienced Territory Sales Managers across two high-potential regions. These roles focus primarily on NHS secondary care hospitals, with additional exposure to physiotherapy clinics and private providers. The portfolio is well-established, high-value, and sold across multiple departments, creating a broad and varied stakeholder base.
Territories Available:
- Midlands / West England: Covering a large patch from Blackburn down to Worcester and across to Leicester (excluding Wales).
- South & South West: Covering Southampton, Reading, Bristol and Cornwall (plus surrounding areas).
The Role:
As Territory Sales Manager, you will be responsible for both protecting existing business and driving significant new account growth within your region. The products are strongest within orthotics services, but you will also engage with surgeons, physiotherapists, and wider clinical stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing new business within NHS secondary care hospitals
- Managing and growing established hospital accounts
- Identifying opportunities across multiple departments and clinical pathways
- Delivering product demonstrations, fittings support and clinical training
- Building a structured CRM pipeline and maintaining accurate territory records
- Managing a busy field-based schedule (typically 2 appointments per day)
- Winning high-value deals, often £30k-£40k in size
- Achieving ambitious annual growth expectations (20-25% year-on-year)
This is a challenging environment; resilience, work ethic, and strong sales discipline are essential.
Candidate Profile:
Our client is looking for proven, hungry medical sales professionals, ideally from one of the following backgrounds:
- Orthotists moving into commercial sales - Highly valued for technical credibility.
- Physiotherapists transitioning into sales - Often successful due to clinical understanding, ambition, and appetite to learn the commercial side.
You will ideally bring:
- Experience selling into NHS secondary care (essential)
- Strong new business drive alongside account management capability
- Thick skin and persistence - NHS sales cycles are demanding
- Excellent time management and territory discipline
- Confidence engaging across surgeons, orthotists, physios and procurement
- CRM competence and structured pipeline building
- A performance-first mindset
You will be judged on results and territory growth rather than box-ticking KPIs.
Package & Rewards:
- Salary: £38,000 - £55,000
- Bonus: £14,000 - £15,000 achievable
- Car Allowance: £7,000 per year (strict allowance policy)
- Commission: 10% on sales above target
- Pension: 5%/5% matched
- Health Shield Cashback Plan
- Targets measured annually (quarterly shortfalls can be back-paid if year-end target is achieved)
