Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Pharma Compliance Officer role based in Hove. The Pharma Compliance Officer will oversee compliance across client engagement programs, including congresses, speaker events, advisory boards, and educational initiatives, ensuring adherence to relevant pharmaceutical codes and regulations. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing and approving HCP engagement activities, contracts, and materials; monitoring interactions for regulatory alignment; and maintaining accurate, audit‑ready documentation within the Clinic Live platform. The role involves performing risk assessments, supporting internal and client audits, and recommending process improvements to strengthen governance frameworks. The Pharma Compliance Officer will collaborate closely with Medical Affairs, Commercial, Legal, and Finance stakeholders, provide compliance guidance and training, and track regulatory developments to keep policies and procedures current.
Qualifications
- Strong Compliance Management and Regulatory Compliance skills, with experience applying frameworks such as FDA, PhRMA, EFPIA, ABPI, or similar pharmaceutical codes.
- Demonstrated Analytical Skills, including the ability to interpret complex regulations, assess risk, and translate requirements into practical controls and workflows.
- Excellent Communication skills, with the ability to explain compliance requirements clearly, influence stakeholders, and prepare concise reports and documentation.
- Working knowledge of Finance principles related to HCP engagements, transfers of value, fair market value, and budget tracking in a regulated environment.
- Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences compliance, preferably within Medical Affairs or Commercial governance.
- Familiarity with compliance technology platforms, workflow tools, or GRC systems, and comfort working with data and documentation in digital environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Life Sciences, Business, or a related field; relevant compliance certifications (e.g., healthcare or pharma compliance) are an advantage.
- Proactive, detail-focused working style, with the ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and maintain high standards of integrity and confidentiality.
Desirable Qualifications
- Pharmacy, pharmaceutical science, regulatory affairs, clinical governance, or healthcare compliance background.
- Experience in digital health, telehealth, online pharmacy, private healthcare, or healthcare technology.
- Knowledge of UK healthcare, pharmacy, prescribing, data protection, and patient safety standards.
