Logistics Coordinator

Climb Recruitment are proud to be working with a leading engineering company in Sheffield area Role: Shipping & Logistics Coordinator Main Purpose of Job: Working within the operations team, assuming overall responsibility for all Logistics within the company, implementing best practise and compliance with current legislation regarding exports. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: * Processing daily despatches and correct documentation in a timely manner. * Negotiate rates with current suppliers and continually try to engage with alternative logistic solutions. * Building and maintaining a professional relationship with new and existing suppliers. * Collaborate with Operations team to optimise the flow of orders from preparation to shipment. * Ensure all duties and taxes are correct and in accordance with the shipment. * Schedule and track inbound and outgoing shipments. * Ensure materials are delivered to sites in a timely manner as per clients’ criteria. * Assess and recommend ideal shipping methods, routing or carriers to meet necessary parameters, specifications and costs. * Review and advise relevant Incoterms and tariff codes. * Review and validate export documentation. * Arrange special transport whenever required. * Advise customers on orders available for collection. * Reconciling supplier invoices. * Reconciling EU VAT. * Ordering of special packaging for shipments. * Respond to customer enquiries and refer clients to the appropriate channel * Liaise with our suppliers regarding ongoing insurance claims. * Delivering and embedding continuous improvement. Knowledge / Skills * Proactive and responsive * Organised, Passionate, Detail Orientated with the ability to work within tight deadlines * Knowledge of ERP systems advantageous. * Knowledge of Import processes. * Knowledge of Tariff Codes and Incoterms. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Be conversant in the use of Microsoft packages i.e. Word, Excel etc. * ITOPS Qualification advantageous Usual Hours of Work Mon – Friday 9am to 5pm (1-hour lunch) Pay and Benefits £DOE per annum depending on experience. 4% Contributory pension scheme Life cover at 3 x salary on sign up to pension scheme Modern, clean working environment with free onsite parking
