Climax is one of the leading creative lights of independent games development with an outstanding line of top published titles. You’ll be based out of our brand new, state of the art studio at Lakeside North Harbour set in stunning 130-acre landscaped grounds in Portsmouth. We are seeking an experienced Senior Animator to create high‑quality animation using performance capture data for characters, creatures, and cinematic scenes. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a team of passionate and experienced developers on a AAA project.
Requirements
- Experience working as a Senior Animator on at least one published AAA console title.
- Extensive experience with MotionBuilder and Maya.
- Proven experience with mocap clean‑up tools.
- Understanding of human anatomy, body/creature mechanics, and all animation principles.
- Proven experience working within Unreal Engine 5.
Responsibilities
- Clean, process, and retarget captured data to digital character rigs.
- Collaborate with directors, animators, and tech artists to refine performance quality.
- Integrate animations into the engines.
- Troubleshoot mocap rigs, markers, etc.
- Ensure animation quality meets artistic and technical standards across all assets.
- Work with the wider art, design and code teams to champion best technical practices.
- As part of reviews, provide constructive critique and solutions.
- Demonstrate self‑motivation and motivate other team members.
