We're looking for a fully onsite Cinematic Artist to create high‑quality in‑engine cinematics that enhance gameplay and storytelling. You'll be responsible for building, sequencing, and polishing real‑time cinematic moments using game engine tools, working closely with animation, design, and narrative teams.
Responsibilities
- Create and implement in‑engine cinematics, cutscenes, and scripted sequences
- Set up cinematic cameras, framing, blocking, and shot composition
- Use sequencer/timeline tools to manage animation, cameras, audio, and events
- Integrate character animation, facial animation, and motion capture into cinematic sequences
- Set up and configure characters, props, and scene elements for use in cinematic sequences
- Work with character Blueprints or prefabs to ensure characters behave correctly during cinematics
- Coordinate gameplay triggers, dialogue, animation states, and events during cinematic playback
- Collaborate with animation, rigging, audio, and VFX teams to polish cinematic moments
- Debug cinematic setups and ensure they run smoothly in‑game
- Optimize cinematic sequences to meet performance and memory budgets
Qualifications
- Experience working in a game engine such as Unreal Engine or Unity
- Experience setting up characters, rigs, and assets for use in real‑time cinematics
- Familiarity with character Blueprints (Unreal) or prefabs/controllers (Unity) for cinematic setup and control
- Understanding of animation systems and state machines
- Experience integrating motion capture, keyframe animation, and facial animation into sequences
- Knowledge of camera systems, shot composition, and cinematic pacing
- Ability to troubleshoot issues related to animation timing, camera transitions, and sequence playback
