Quantity Surveyor - Low Carbon Heat

Permanent60k - 65kClimate17 is pleased to be working with a growing UK low-carbon energy business that designs, delivers and operates heat network and heat pump solutions across residential and commercial projects.
The business is entering an exciting phase of growth and is looking to appoint an experienced and commercially focused Quantity Surveyor to join its expanding Commercial team.
Reporting into the Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial delivery of multiple projects, helping to ensure schemes are delivered within budget while identifying commercial opportunities, managing contractual risk and maintaining strong relationships with clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
Key ResponsibilitiesManage project budgets, forecasts and Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs)Identify and maximise commercial opportunities through variations and value engineeringManage relationships with clients, suppliers and subcontractorsSupport contract and subcontract reviews and administrationProduce and negotiate variations using quotations, cost data and Schedules of RatesReview valuations, progress claims and project cost reportsIdentify, assess and manage commercial and contractual riskSupport procurement and subcontractor management activitiesWork closely with Project Management, Finance, Design, Installation and Sales teamsProvide commercial reporting and support to the wider Commercial functionHelp identify estimating risks, scope gaps and lessons learned for future projectsAbout YouYou will ideally have: Relevant experience within Quantity Surveying or commercial managementA Quantity Surveying degree or equivalent commercial/construction qualificationStrong experience of cost control, forecasting, CVRs and financial reportingExperience managing contracts, subcontractors, valuations and variationsGood understanding of construction contracts and commercial riskStrong analytical and numerical capabilityIntermediate to advanced Excel skillsExcellent communication and negotiation skillsAbility to manage multiple projects and competing prioritiesA proactive and adaptable approachExperience within housebuilding, residential construction, M&E, energy, heat networks, utilities or infrastructure would be particularly relevant.
