Role

Our client is a leading international renewable energy company focusing on the operations and maintenance of a broad portfolio of renewable energy assets.

They are actively seeking an experienced Solar O&M Technician to provide a comprehensive range of services, including electrical and non-electrical tasks necessary for the efficient maintenance of solar farms.

Responsibilities

  1. Perform scheduled and corrective maintenance works (including HV maintenance) for solar plants to ensure their successful ongoing operation.
  2. Understand and monitor the company’s obligations regarding the Site/Lead Technician’s assigned sites, ensuring compliance and reporting on these obligations.
  3. Be aware of HSE issues, report site issues to the Regional Manager and HSE Manager, and implement measures to improve HSE standards.
  4. Take primary responsibility for plant performance, work quality, and site appearance, including electrical, landscaping, and other aspects.
  5. Coordinate effectively with the Technical Operations Planner, Regional Manager, and Area Supervisor for site works and seek guidance as needed.
  6. Resolve work tickets collaboratively with other Site Technicians and report back to the Project Manager or other seniors with complete and timely information.
  7. Liaise with internal teams such as LV, HV, and Ground maintenance, as well as subcontractors and third parties.
  8. Participate in the company’s on-call rota for non-working hours, including holidays and weekends.

Requirements

  1. At least 1 year of experience working on ground-mounted solar farms (Desirable).
  2. At least 1 year of experience in installation or ongoing maintenance of 3-phase solar PV systems (Desirable).
  3. Experience with central inverters, preferably Gamesa.
  4. C&G 2330 Level 2/3 or equivalent qualification.
  5. C&G 2391 Inspection and Testing qualification.
  6. C&G BS7671 17th/18th edition qualification.
  7. Full UK Driving License.
  8. Computer literacy.
  9. Attention to detail.
  10. Qualifications or training in PV inverter technologies, communications, networking, IOSH or NEBOSH (Desirable).
  11. HV qualifications such as AP15 or OP40 (Desirable).
  12. Right to live and work in the EU (Essential).
