Climate17 is pleased to be working with a fast-growing UK energy infrastructure business that is developing and investing in low-carbon infrastructure projects across the UK. As the business continues to scale, they are looking to appoint a Senior Investment Analyst to strengthen portfolio-level financial capability and support high-quality investment decision-making across a growing project portfolio.
This is a commercially focused role with responsibility for financial modelling, valuation, investment case development and portfolio analysis.
The Senior Investment Analyst will work across multiple projects and support both project teams and senior leadership with financial analysis and investment decision support. Key responsibilities will include:
- Owning and maintaining valuation models across the portfolio
- Developing investment cases for new and existing infrastructure projects
- Undertaking scenario analysis, long-term forecasting and returns assessment
- Reviewing project-level financial models and challenging key assumptions
- Supporting financial close and investment decision-making
- Developing and maintaining modelling standards, templates and QA processes
- Maintaining portfolio-wide assumptions across CAPEX, OPEX, demand, pricing and macroeconomic variables
- Supporting funding, refinancing and capital allocation processes
- Providing analysis for shareholder reporting, business planning and valuation movements
- Presenting financial insights to senior leadership and external stakeholders
- Supporting and overseeing more junior analysts within the team
About You: We are looking for someone with strong financial modelling and investment analysis experience within energy, renewables, infrastructure or a related asset class. You are likely to bring:
- Experience within energy, renewables or infrastructure assets
- Strong understanding of infrastructure valuation, project finance and investment decision-making
- Advanced financial modelling capability
- Experience developing and reviewing complex valuation models
- Exposure to project or portfolio valuations, transaction analysis and investment case development
- Strong analytical and commercial judgement
- Confidence communicating complex financial analysis to both financial and non-financial stakeholders
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities
- Experience within private equity, a private equity-backed energy business, Big Four or a comparable investment environment would be highly relevant
- Previous exposure to district heating, utilities, regulated infrastructure or other low-carbon energy assets would be advantageous
Package: Competitive salary, dependent on experience, up to 20% performance bonus, up to 7% matched pension, private medical insurance, travel insurance, hybrid working, occasional UK travel.
