Climate17 is working with a leading renewable energy EPC and O&M provider delivering utility-scale solar PV and battery storage projects across the UK. They are looking for a Senior Procurement Manager who will be responsible for preparing and managing the preparation and application of procurement tendering processes for ICP works and subsequent negotiation of associated contracts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interact with Grid & ICP subcontractors to obtain relevant quotes based on the grid connection offers for projects under tender.
  • Monitor and evaluate bid performance metrics and understand market position and pricing, making suggestions for policy and process improvements.
  • Interrogate subcontractor offers for missing scope, deviations and cost improvements.
  • Build up the cost estimate, ensuring all costs are properly validated and adequate risk provisions are considered for projects.
  • Expand the base of Grid connection & ICP subcontractors for solar PV and battery storage projects.
  • Develop a supplier database for key equipment.
  • Collaborate with the global procurement team and colleagues to ensure sharing of key supplier and market information whilst ensuring consistency of approach in procurement strategies.
  • Participate in sales calls with customers, subcontractors and OEMs.
  • Support the engineering and project delivery teams to improve the strategy for the delivery of interconnection works and battery storage project delivery.
  • Adhere to all Company policies/procedures and business ethics codes including anti-bribery policy and QHSE policy.
  • Responsible for negotiation and closing contracts with Suppliers and Subcontractors.
  • Act as an escalation point for issues in ongoing projects with Grid/ICP Suppliers and Subcontractors.

Experience Required:

  • Experience in procurement, commercial management, or supply chain within: Utility-scale solar PV EPC, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Power infrastructure, Utilities or grid connection projects.
  • Demonstrated experience procuring ICP packages including: HV substations, Grid connection infrastructure, Export cables, Protection and control systems.
  • Proven experience managing tenders for HV electrical works (11kV–132kV) or higher.
  • Experience supporting multiple projects simultaneously across development and construction phases.
  • Knowledge of supply chain risks in renewable energy projects (transformers, switchgear, cables, protection panels).
  • Track record of negotiating major EPC subcontractor or infrastructure packages (£5M–£50M+).
