Climate17 is pleased to be working with a growing renewable fuels business that is supporting the decarbonisation of heavy road transport across the UK.
They are looking to appoint a Business Development Executive to join their commercial team and help identify new customers, develop opportunities and build relationships across the HGV, transport and logistics market.
This is a broad commercial role combining proactive business development, customer engagement, market intelligence and marketing activity.
The role would suit someone already working in sales, business development, account management, recruitment or another customer-facing environment who is looking to develop their career within the energy and transport transition.
The Role
- You will work closely with the Sales & Business Development Director to:
- Identify and research prospective customers and commercial opportunities
- Engage new contacts through telephone, email, Linked In and industry networking
- Develop relationships with customers and support meetings, proposals and follow-up activity
- Generate new conversations and help progress opportunities through the sales pipeline
- Maintain accurate CRM records and manage agreed actions and next steps
- Monitor developments across the HGV, fleet, transport and alternative fuels markets
- Support customer proposals, commercial reporting and market research
- Attend customer meetings, exhibitions and industry events across the UK
- Support day-to-day marketing and social media activity
- Create content around customer activity, infrastructure developments, industry news and case studies
About You
Previous experience in sales or business development would be beneficial, although direct industry experience is not essential.
Exposure to transport, logistics, energy, infrastructure, alternative fuels or another technical sector would be advantageous.
More importantly, we are looking for someone who is
- Confident and personable when speaking with customers and new contacts
- Proactive and comfortable creating new conversations
- Commercially minded and genuinely interested in business development
- Organised and consistent with follow-up
- Comfortable using Linked In and digital channels for outreach
- Curious and keen to learn about renewable fuels and the HGV market
- Comfortable picking up the phone and approaching prospective customers
- Collaborative, coachable and motivated to develop
- Willing to travel to customer meetings and industry events across the UK
