An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quality Supplier Officer to join the growing QSHE team, reporting directly to the Quality Manager.
About the Role
This is a key role focused on supplier quality, auditing and continuous improvement, ensuring that products and services supplied to the business consistently meet the required standards and specifications. You’ll take ownership of supplier approval and performance, conduct audits across the UK and internationally, and work closely with Procurement, Quality and wider business teams to manage supplier risks and drive improvements.
Responsibilities
- Manage and continually improve the supplier approval and performance management system.
- Plan and conduct supplier audits across the UK and internationally, including preparing reports and ensuring corrective actions are successfully closed out.
- Act as the primary point of contact for supplier quality issues and represent the company at supplier sites.
- Work closely with Procurement on supplier selection, risk assessment and approval.
- Ensure supplier documentation, specifications and quality records are accurate and maintained.
- Conduct internal audits to identify quality risks and assess the effectiveness of existing processes and controls.
- Monitor supplier quality KPIs, CAPAs and overall supplier performance.
- Escalate and manage supplier quality risks where required.
- Support the wider QSHE team with quality activities and training.
- Promote a clean, safe and quality-focused working environment.
Qualifications
- A Science degree or equivalent experience within a supplier quality/management environment.
Required Skills
- Strong practical knowledge of Quality Management Systems, particularly ISO 9001:2015.
- Experience as an ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, with auditing experience against ISO 13485.
- Experience conducting supplier audits and the ability to undertake international audits independently.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently and to deadlines.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint.
- A full UK/EU manual driving licence.
Preferred Skills
- Internal Auditor qualification.
- Experience using ERP systems.
- Knowledge or experience of validation.
- GMP knowledge/background.
Pay range and compensation package
- Competitive Base Salary
- Up to £2,000 relocation package if required
- Generous annual Profit Related Pay bonus
