The successful candidate will be comfortable operating in a high-growth environment where processes are still evolving.
Role Overview
The Director will lead the virtual design and digital delivery function across active mission-critical projects, ensuring that design models, coordination workflows, and construction deliverables are aligned from early data collection through to handover. The role will involve working closely with internal teams, external design partners, trade contractors, and field personnel to ensure model quality, practical implementation, and consistent adoption of standards. As the organisation grows, this individual will also help build and lead a wider VDC / design technology team.
Key Responsibilities
- Digital Delivery Leadership
- Define and implement standards for virtual design and digital delivery across all project phases.
- Lead BIM execution planning and establish level-of-development requirements for multi-discipline projects.
- Oversee the Autodesk Construction Cloud environment, related tools, and platform adoption.
- Create workflows that are effective in both design and construction settings.
- Help build and lead a future VDC / design technology team as the business expands.
- Project Coordination
- Serve as the day-to-day VDC lead on active mission-critical projects.
- Coordinate site data collection, federated model management, clash detection, and discipline model integration.
- Work directly with external design firms, outside drafters, and subcontractors to align drawings and model outputs.
- Support 4D scheduling integration, constructability reviews, and prefabrication coordination.
- Manage model version control and handoff processes in a design-build environment where design and construction overlap.
- Lead coordination efforts for mechanical, electrical, and technology systems in high-density mission-critical environments.
- Support reality capture workflows and point cloud integration into Revit.
- Stakeholder Alignment
- Translate between design intent, field conditions, and as-built verification.
- Work with project managers, general contractors, trade partners, and ownership teams to align digital deliverables with scope and schedule.
- Support pursuit efforts and client presentations where digital delivery capabilities add value.
- Contribute to onboarding of subcontractors and design partners by setting model standards and coordination protocols.
- Process and Innovation
- Identify and implement tools and workflows that improve project coordination.
- Support digital twin development and structured asset handover deliverables.
- Deliver training for internal staff and project partners on BIM / VDC workflows and technology.
- Work with innovation leadership to evaluate emerging technologies, including AI, automation, and next-generation coordination tools.
Candidate Profile
