Climate17 are once again partnered with a growing renewable energy business who are experts in delivering onsite renewable energy solutions for commercial and industrial customers. Backed by a significant funder and led by a highly experienced management team, the company is scaling across multiple European markets with a strong pipeline of solar PV and battery storage projects. Owing to continued growth, they are actively searching for a Senior Asset Manager to oversee the performance, optimisation, and long-term value of solar assets, including both rooftop and ground-mounted commercial and industrial (behind-the-meter) systems throughout the UK.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and optimise asset performance using advanced data analysis to maximise output and financial returns.
- Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance with third-party service providers to minimise downtime.
- Track and report on revenue, costs and returns.
- Ensure assets meet all local regulations, grid requirements and safety standards.
- Own and maintain asset risk registers, including technical, commercial, regulatory, and counterparty risks.
- Lead root-cause analysis of material underperformance events and implement corrective action plans.
- Interface with insurers, lenders, and technical advisors on claims, audits, and DD reviews.
- Manage power purchase agreements and service contracts, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and optimising commercial outcomes.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with property owners, clients, partners and grid operators; address issues with professionalism and care.
- Support commissioning and handover of new assets, ensuring smooth integration into the operational portfolio.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency and incorporate new technologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field.
- 5+ years in solar asset management, ideally in commercial & industrial (C&I) sector.
- Experience managing distributed energy assets is an advantage.
- Advanced proficiency in data analysis (Excel, monitoring platforms, Python, PVsyst etc).
- Strong understanding of PV system design, operation, and maintenance, with emphasis on behind-the-meter applications.
- Knowledge of UK energy markets, grid regulations and subsidies.
- Proven ability to manage relationships across residential, commercial and industrial clients.
- German language skills are a benefit.
- Willingness to travel across UK and Europe (up to 20%).
