Overview
In this role you will support the commercial delivery of multiple low-carbon heat projects, ensuring schemes stay within budget while spotting commercial opportunities and mitigating risk. You will work within the expanding Commercial team, collaborating with project management, finance, design, installation and sales to drive cost control and value. The role offers ownership across live projects in a growing, mission-driven business shaping sustainable heating solutions. You will contribute to improving commercial processes and stakeholder relationships in a fast-growing sector.

Responsibilities
- Manage project budgets, forecasts and CVRs
- Maximise commercial opportunities through variations and value engineering
- Maintain relationships with clients, suppliers and subcontractors
- Support contract and subcontract reviews and administration
- Produce and negotiate variations using cost data and rates schedules
- Review valuations, progress claims and cost reports
- Identify and manage commercial and contractual risk
- Support procurement and subcontractor management
- Collaborate with Project Management, Finance, Design, Installation and Sales
- Provide commercial reporting and support to the wider Commercial function
- Identify estimating risks, scope gaps and lessons learned for future projects
Key requirements
- Relevant experience in Quantity Surveying or commercial management
- Quantity Surveying degree or equivalent qualification
- Strong cost control, forecasting, CVRs and financial reporting
- Experience managing contracts, subcontractors, valuations and variations
- Good understanding of construction contracts and commercial risk
- Strong analytical and numerical capability
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities
- Proactive and adaptable approach
- Experience in housebuilding, residential construction, M&E, energy, heat networks, utilities or infrastructure
