With an expanding portfolio and strong commitment to safety, reliability, and performance, our client is seeking an O&M Electrical Technician to support ongoing operations and maintenance activities across multiple solar sites in New York State.

Your Opportunity

This position plays a key role in the operation, maintenance, inspection, and troubleshooting of commercial and utility‑scale solar PV systems. The successful candidate will support plant performance, reliability, and safety through preventative maintenance, corrective actions, and rapid response to outages and alarms. This is an excellent opportunity for an electrical technician with solar, power generation, or industrial maintenance experience looking to join a growing renewable energy platform with long‑term career progression.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and corrective electrical and mechanical maintenance on solar PV systems
  • Troubleshoot system faults, electrical failures, and underperformance issues using diagnostic tools and monitoring platforms
  • Respond to service tickets, outage events, and system alarms in a timely manner
  • Support inverter resets, firmware updates, equipment replacement, and system restarts
  • Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and document findings and corrective actions
  • Verify grounding, bonding, torqueing, and electrical integrity of system components
  • Review monitoring data and support performance analysis and root‑cause investigations
  • Maintain accurate service records, maintenance logs, and field reports
  • Coordinate activities with internal teams and third‑party service providers
  • Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout protocols, and OSHA requirements

What You Bring

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years of electrical maintenance experience within solar, power generation, or industrial environments
  • Strong knowledge of AC/DC electrical systems and NEC requirements
  • Experience using electrical testing and diagnostic equipment including multimeters and insulation resistance testers
  • Ability to read single‑line diagrams, electrical schematics, and as‑built drawings
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with high attention to detail
  • Comfortable working independently in field‑based environments
  • Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent preferred
  • Experience with utility‑scale or commercial solar PV O&M preferred
  • Familiarity with inverter, SCADA, and solar tracking platforms is advantageous
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred

Working Conditions

  • Primarily outdoor work across a variety of weather conditions
  • Use of PPE including arc‑rated clothing and electrical gloves as required
  • Ability to work at heights and use ladders or lifts
  • Ability to lift equipment and tools as required
  • Flexibility to work extended hours or on‑call schedules when necessary
