Your Opportunity
As a Stakeholder & Community Relations Associate, you will support the development of utility‑scale renewable energy projects by building and maintaining positive relationships with landowners, community leaders, local stakeholders, and regulatory bodies. Working closely with land, permitting, and engineering teams, you will help drive stakeholder engagement strategies, coordinate outreach activities, and support project permitting efforts. This role offers the opportunity to influence project outcomes by fostering trust, addressing concerns, and ensuring meaningful community participation throughout the development process.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and engage key stakeholders, community leaders, and local influencers in prospective development areas
- Coordinate and support community engagement activities, including public meetings, consultations, and stakeholder outreach initiatives
- Maintain accurate records of stakeholder communications, commitments, and engagement activities across multiple projects
- Develop communication materials and engagement tools to support informed community decision‑making
- Build and maintain strong relationships with landowners, community members, local organisations, and economic development groups
- Communicate project information, technical study findings, and development updates to stakeholders in a clear and accessible manner
- Prepare stakeholder consultation reports and socio‑economic impact summaries to support permitting and regulatory submissions
- Assist in identifying and addressing community concerns to facilitate successful project development and permitting outcomesSupport project communications, including construction notifications, stakeholder updates, and other external communications
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Environmental Studies, Political Science, Planning, or a related field
- Experience in community relations, stakeholder engagement, public affairs, or project development, ideally within renewable energy or infrastructure sectors
- Strong understanding of stakeholder engagement principles and community consultation best practices
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences effectively
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously
- Proven ability to build relationships, resolve concerns, and navigate sensitive discussions professionally
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to identify practical solutions to emerging issues
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Experience with GIS, SharePoint, CRM platforms, or project management systems is advantageous
- Ability and willingness to travel regularly in support of project development activities
