An international renewable energy developer, constructor, and operator is seeking a Project Engineer with one to three years of experience in large-scale renewable energy projects.
This global company has a growing North American team and a pipeline of utility-scale solar and BESS projects. The role offers significant opportunities for career growth and personal development.
Location: Houston, Texas (hybrid)
Position Overview: The Project Engineer will provide technical support for Solar PV project engineering, including design evaluation, cost analysis, system modeling, procurement support, construction supervision, and technical due diligence. A background in electrical engineering and experience with utility-scale solar PV project design are required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Engineers and Development Managers during project development, design, and cost estimation phases.
- Gather and analyze technical data such as site plans, electrical loads, and cost information.
- Review and approve Solar PV layouts (for projects 40 MW), electrical schematics, and perform energy modeling using PVsyst or PVcase.
- Prepare technical documentation and coordinate engineering efforts to support procurement and EPC teams.
- Assist finance teams with technical due diligence and manage interconnection applications as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 1-3 years of experience in Solar PV, Energy Storage, or related energy project development.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD for reviewing solar layouts and electrical diagrams; PVsyst or PVcase experience is a plus.
- Industry Knowledge: Understanding of renewable energy markets, development engineering, and project design.
- Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects, collaborate across teams, and handle complex tasks.
