Climate17 is working with a well-backed renewable energy platform that is growing its UK development and delivery capability across utility-scale solar PV and battery energy storage (BESS). As part of this growth, they are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to support the pre-construction and construction delivery of a pipeline of renewable energy projects. The role will sit within a collaborative development and delivery team responsible for progressing projects from late-stage development through to construction and handover into operations. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and well-capitalised organisation with a long-term commitment to the UK energy transition.

The Senior Project Manager will play a key role in managing the delivery of renewable energy projects across the UK. This includes supporting projects through late-stage development, pre-construction and construction, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time and within budget. You will work closely with internal development, engineering and investment teams, alongside external contractors, grid operators and key stakeholders.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the delivery of solar PV and battery storage projects through pre-construction and construction phases
  • Coordinating grid connection activities, including engagement with network operators
  • Managing engineering and technical workstreams during project delivery
  • Supporting procurement processes and negotiating key project contracts
  • Administering contracts, monitoring performance and managing payment processes
  • Coordinating the discharge of planning conditions and other pre-construction requirements
  • Monitoring HSE and technical compliance throughout the delivery process
  • Managing project reporting, programme tracking and risk management
  • Resolving technical and commercial issues as they arise during project delivery
  • Supporting the transition of completed projects into operations and asset management

The role offers broad exposure across the full project lifecycle, providing valuable insight into both development and operational stages of renewable energy assets.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Degree-level qualification in Engineering, Project Management, Planning or a related discipline
  • Over 5+ years’ experience within the renewable energy sector
  • Demonstrable experience delivering infrastructure or energy projects across multiple stages of the project lifecycle
  • Experience in the delivery of renewable energy projects such as wind, solar PV, battery storage or grid infrastructure
  • Strong experience managing grid connections and working with UK network operators
  • Experience with contract preparation, negotiation and administration
  • Understanding of UK planning and consenting processes
  • Knowledge of project financial management and project economics
  • Familiarity with construction health & safety requirements, including CDM regulations
  • Experience using technical software such as AutoCAD, GIS or PVsyst would be advantageous
  • Ability to identify project risks early and develop practical solutions
  • Strong ability to translate technical detail into commercial implications
