Climate17 are working with a leading renewable energy company dedicated to pioneering clean energy solutions for everyone, everywhere. They are looking to hire a Senior Project Manager (Onshore Wind) to act as Project Lead during the execution and delivery of onshore wind projects, coordinating internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. The role will also lead the identification, development, and acquisition of onshore wind opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead onshore wind projects through execution, construction, commissioning, and handover.
  • Coordinate technical advisers, project managers, contractors, consultants, and other key stakeholders throughout project delivery.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, procurement activities, risk registers, and reporting requirements.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with technical, contractual, and quality requirements.
  • Identify, assess, and secure new onshore wind development opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of greenfield, partnership, and acquisition opportunities.
  • Support site origination, land engagement, and strategic partnership activities.
  • Build relationships with developers, investors, utilities, landowners, local authorities, and other industry stakeholders.
  • Develop procurement strategies for turbines, balance of plant works, EPC contractors, and specialist suppliers.
  • Lead tendering, supplier evaluation, contract negotiations, and appointment processes.
  • Build long-term supplier relationships to optimise cost, quality, and programme performance.
  • Negotiate and manage commercial agreements, including confidentiality agreements, exclusivity arrangements, joint venture agreements, EPC contracts, and supply agreements.
  • Collaborate with technical, planning, environmental, and grid specialists throughout project development.
  • Prepare project budgets, forecasts, and procurement cost estimates.
  • Contribute to portfolio growth strategies and investment planning.
  • Monitor and report on project performance, procurement outcomes, and key delivery metrics.

Experience

  • Significant experience in renewable energy project development, construction, procurement, or business development, with a strong focus on onshore wind.
  • Demonstrated success in identifying and securing renewable energy development opportunities.
  • Proven experience leading renewable energy projects through execution and construction.
  • Strong understanding of onshore wind technologies, development processes, procurement, and supply chains.
  • Experience negotiating major commercial and procurement contracts.
  • Well-established industry relationships with developers, contractors, suppliers, investors, and other key stakeholders.
