Climate17 are working alongside a well-established, UK-based asset management firm who specialise in the entire project lifecycle, from origination through to operations of renewable energy and power generation assets. They are looking for a Construction Project Manager to be the key liaison between client and Principal Contractor for the delivery of energy storage and flexibility technology in the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the principal contractor and sub-contractors on site throughout the construction period to assess progress against the agreed construction programme plan and in adherence to site rules, H&S and Environmental Management legislation.
  • Carry out regular site inspections to ensure compliance and take necessary action as and when required.
  • Assist with the resolution of issues, and report and escalate timely, effectively and efficiently.
  • Prepare and submit reports and keep updating the log on the progress and status of the project to both client and employer on a weekly basis.
  • Report on mandatory requirements for discharge of planning condition No. 5.
  • Attend project meetings to represent client with all key stakeholders as required and provide updates back to the client.
  • Differentiate matters by level of significance, urgency, and priority, knowing when to refer significant ones to the client’s attention and involve the client’s direct participation in such project meetings.

Requirements

  • Relevant accreditations required: Site Management Safety Training Certificate (SMSTC), Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS).
  • HNC Degree or equivalent in Construction discipline.
  • Project Management qualification / experience.
  • NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational H&S or equivalent.
  • Experience of managing large-scale energy projects with multiple contractors and stakeholders.
  • An understanding of planning and environmental issues in relation to large scale energy projects.
  • Experience of working in the public and private sector.
  • Experience of working in conjunction with Distribution Network Operator (DNO).
