Climate17 is pleased to be working with a leading developer of low-carbon heating infrastructure that is accelerating the transition to sustainable heat across the UK. The organisation designs, installs and operates renewable heating systems and heat networks for residential, commercial and public sector developments.

With strong growth in the heat pump and district heating sector, this is an exciting opportunity to join a business playing a key role in decarbonising heating and supporting the transition to cleaner energy systems.

As Commissioning Engineer, you will play a critical role in the final delivery phase of renewable heating projects, ensuring heat pump systems are installed, commissioned and operating efficiently.

You will work closely with installation teams, contractors and project stakeholders to oversee commissioning activities, carry out quality control checks and resolve technical issues to ensure systems perform to specification and meet operational standards.

  • Complete final wiring and setup of heat pump systems, circulation pumps and associated plant
  • Lead the commissioning of renewable heating systems ensuring performance and reliability
  • Conduct quality control checks and maintain commissioning documentation
  • Work closely with installers, electricians and project teams to coordinate commissioning activities
  • Identify and resolve technical issues during system commissioning
  • Maintain commissioning records using project management systems
  • Support training and knowledge sharing within the installations team
  • Keep up to date with new technologies and best practice in renewable heating systems

Strong electrical experience, ideally within commercial installations.

NVQ Level 3 in Building Services, HVAC or related discipline.

Experience with electrical testing (BS2391).

Knowledge of heat pumps, plant equipment and heating systems.

Experience commissioning systems 50kW+ preferred.

Ability to work independently and as part of a project team.

Full driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites.
