Our client is a growing organisation operating within the renewable energy and infrastructure sector, providing financial and asset management support across a diverse portfolio of operational energy assets and investment structures. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Senior Management Accountant to join the finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role will take ownership of a portfolio of entities and clients, delivering high-quality financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and audit support within a fast-paced and collaborative environment. The successful candidate will work closely with senior finance stakeholders, operational teams, external auditors, and lenders, while also supporting process improvements and mentoring junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the preparation and review of monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary
  • Produce cash flow forecasts, distribution calculations, and budgeting models
  • Support annual budgeting and forecasting processes across multiple entities
  • Prepare board reporting packs and present financial information to stakeholders where required
  • Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and financial reporting requirements
  • Manage loan covenant calculations, banking compliance reporting, and financing obligations
  • Review VAT returns and oversee statutory accounts preparation under IFRS and UK GAAP
  • Support year-end audit processes across multiple entities and investment structures
  • Assist with onboarding new projects and integrating them into existing reporting frameworks
  • Drive continuous improvement across reporting processes, controls, and finance systems
  • Build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders

Requirements

  • Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Strong experience in management and statutory accounting within a commercial environment
  • Experience managing multiple entities and complex reporting structures
  • Strong understanding of IFRS, FRS102, FRS101, and UK GAAP
  • Experience preparing statutory financial statements and supporting external audits
  • Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills
  • Strong analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to manage competing deadlines and work autonomously
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial information to non-finance stakeholders
  • Experience using ERP/accounting systems

Desirable

  • Experience within renewable energy, infrastructure, asset management, or investment environments
  • Exposure to banking compliance, loan covenant reporting, or project finance structures
  • Previous experience mentoring or supervising junior finance staff
