Climate17 are working with a renewable energy company that designs, installs and maintains solar, storage and integrated energy systems.

They are looking for an experienced SHEQ Manager to implement, develop and maintain SHEQ management systems across the business and wider group of companies.

To succeed in this role, you must be able to lead, train, instruct, support, and oversee the work of others, ensuring that required standards are established, consistently maintained, and adhered to.

Responsibilities

  • Fostering a strong health and safety culture through maintenance, development, and integration.
  • Overseeing annual accreditation external audits and introducing SHEQ/ISO audits.
  • Evaluating quality standards within the business, communicating changes, and implementing relevant adjustments.
  • Managing the company polices to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
  • Regularly reviewing and updating risk assessments for all operations, offices, and sites to meet regulatory and internal standards.
  • Assisting in the investigation of incidents and accidents, producing detailed reports identifying root causes and prevention recommendations.
  • Staying abreast of new legislation and industry best practices, conveying pertinent information to the Management team.
  • Collaborating with individual managers on tender requests and negotiations, providing SHEQ-related information and documentation for competitive responses.
  • Promoting awareness of health and safety matters through various communications, such as toolbox talks and briefings, and delivering necessary training.
  • Experience of providing SHEQ support to multi-site operations.

Requirements

  • A recognised Health and Safety Qualification - NEBOSH General / Construction Certificate or similar as a minimum.
  • Experience of working with ISO/ OHSAS management systems, including up to date knowledge of the standards.
  • A recognised auditing qualification in Quality, Health and Safety or Environmental systems.
  • A recognised training, skills and practice qualification, or working towards
  • Further relevant qualifications or competencies in the SHEQ discipline would also be advantageous.
