Climate17 is delighted to be partnering with a leading UK manufacturer and distributor of solar mounting systems as they look to recruit a QHSE Manager to join their fast-growing business. You will be joining a family run business, where everyone is accountable and this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and ambitious QHSE Manager to come in and hit the ground running.

Based at their new manufacturing facility in the West Midlands, it makes sense that you live in this region but are willing to travel regularly to construction sites across the UK to meet with customers and suppliers and visit the Head Office in the Southwest to meet senior leaders. As such, you will hold a valid driving licence.

You will have proven experience within the manufacturing, construction or renewable energy sectors, and if you have worked in the structural steel space, that would be advantageous, as you’ll need to hit the ground running when you start. You will be a detail-oriented professional who is comfortable using technology and innovation to help the business retain its high standards and unique offering, combined with a desire to drive positive ESG outcomes.

Accredited to all three management systems (14001, 9001 and 45001), you’ll be the main point of contact for all quality, health and safety and environmental issues and it’s expected you’ll be a Lead Auditor for all three management systems. In addition, you’ll hold a NEBOSH General Certificate, and you’ll be comfortable preparing and presenting to senior leadership and external stakeholders, so you’ll be comfortable writing and presenting.

You will possess sound communication and stakeholder engagement skills as you will be liaising with people of all levels internally and externally, and you’ll be required to influence and educate people and gain their buy in. The ability to embed ESG and sustainability principles throughout the business is also important, and you’ll contribute to company-wide ESG initiatives by encouraging team members to consider sustainability and ESG initiatives in their work and behaviours.

You will be responsible for managing a Team, so previous management experience is required, and you will be able to manage workloads, performance and ensure high standards are maintained across the business. It’s also important that you can work with them to provide development opportunities and the chance to gain more responsibility as they progress.

Why Apply?

  • Join a business at the forefront of the renewable energy transition
  • Play a key role in shaping a new and ambitious engineering division
  • Work on meaningful, real-world infrastructure projects
  • Flexible, hybrid working environment
  • Ongoing training and professional development
  • Competitive salary, bonus, and benefits package
  • Strong focus on sustainability and ESG
  • Paid volunteering days
