Are you passionate about protecting the environment and ensuring sustainable development? We’re looking for a dedicated Biodiversity Manager to join our client’s market-leading team. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering impactful biodiversity and environmental sustainability initiatives across all their sites, ensuring compliance and helping reach their ambitious sustainability goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop processes that help meet legal obligations & sustainability targets.
- Offer expert advice on biodiversity net gain, nutrient neutrality, and species protection.
- Collaborate with teams to integrate biodiversity into sustainability reports.
- Raise awareness of biodiversity’s importance with local authorities and communities.
- Support case studies of innovative biodiversity enhancement.
- Lead communication efforts to promote biodiversity initiatives.
- Where necessary support Divisions with specific ecological advice related to biodiversity net gain, the biodiversity metric, nutrient neutrality and species and habitat protection.
- Assist with communications personnel to promote biodiversity which may include media releases.
- Liaise regularly with the clients operating Divisions and the RSPB assisting with its Partnership arrangement and supporting the Group Head of Biodiversity in leading and managing the delivery of the RSPB work programme.
- Working with the Group Head of Biodiversity to develop and implement Group initiatives and ensuring a process is in place to capture all relative information required for the Sustainability Report.
You should have:
- Strong education (MSc), in relevant environmental or sustainability discipline and ideally IEMA certification.
- Passion to bring energy and dynamism in an everchanging discipline.
- Supremely organised with attention to detail, able to work on your own initiative.
- Broader thinking perspective regarding your role and the impacts on the wider business.
- Experience in (SuDS), species choices and design in landscaping, show gardens and advice to new homeowners. Existing habitat features (e.g. wetlands, grasslands and woods).
