We are working with a leading specialist real estate and infrastructure investor focused on acquiring land for renewable energy development, primarily across wind, solar and battery storage projects in the UK and Europe. Backed by a major global infrastructure fund with significant assets under management, the business is well-capitalised and positioned for continued expansion across key renewable energy markets.

As part of its next phase of growth, the organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Business Development Manager to originate and secure new land acquisition opportunities across Scotland and the North of England.

The Role

This is a field-based, new business-focused position centred on identifying, originating and converting land opportunities suitable for renewable energy development.

  • Build and manage your own pipeline of land acquisition opportunities
  • Engage directly with landowners and key stakeholders
  • Conduct site visits and gather commercial and lease information
  • Work closely with internal investment and transaction teams to structure and close agreements
  • Contribute to the long-term development of the land origination function, with potential to build and lead a team over time

The role offers high autonomy, significant exposure to senior stakeholders, and the opportunity to play a key part in scaling a fast-growing platform.

Key Requirements

  • Demonstrable professional experience
  • Background in renewable energy business development or agricultural land-focused field sales
  • Proven ability to generate pipeline and achieve commercial targets
  • Experience engaging with senior commercial stakeholders
  • Strong organisational and pipeline management skills
  • Willingness to travel extensively across Scotland and the North of England
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Entrepreneurial, relationship-driven and self-motivated mindset

Responsibilities

  • Generate new land acquisition opportunities through outbound outreach, networking and in-person meetings
  • Conduct site visits and collect relevant technical and commercial information
  • Manage the acquisition process from initial contact through to signed agreement
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and pipeline forecasting
  • Collaborate with internal investment teams to develop tailored commercial proposals
  • Negotiate commercial terms and close transactions
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with landowners and industry partners
