Climate17 are working alongside a UK-based clean energy company that designs, installs, and operates low-carbon heating systems, mainly using heat pumps and heat networks to replace traditional gas heating. They are actively searching for a Commissioning Engineer to ensure that every installation functions seamlessly and meets the companies’ high standards, blending technical expertise and quality control.
The role will involve final wiring of heat pump systems, conducting thorough quality control, and managing all necessary documentation. You will also oversee the commissioning process, ensuring each system operates as intended and meets the companies' high standards.
Key responsibilities:- Completing the final wiring and setup of heat pump systems including circulation pumps and associated plant, ensuring adherence to design specifications and safety standards.
- Conducting rigorous quality control checks and reviewing documentation to guarantee system integrity and compliance.
- Utilising in-house QC systems SimPRO & Procore.
- Leading the commissioning process for heat pumps and systems, ensuring they operate efficiently and meet intended performance criteria.
- Collaborating closely with installation teams, electricians, and other relevant internal and external stakeholders to coordinate and streamline the commissioning process.
- Addressing and resolving any technical issues that arise during the commissioning phase, implementing solutions to optimise system performance and escalating to Installations Manager where additional support is required.
- Ensuring all commissioning activities align with their commitment to providing sustainable, low-carbon heating solutions.
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry advancements and integrating best practices into commissioning processes.
- Providing training and guidance to the wider team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
- Demonstrates an interest in training and developing future members of the Installations team, to develop their career as the team grows.
- Demonstratable professional electrical experience primarily in commercial installations.
- 18th edition.
- NVQ level 3 in building services or HVAC sector.
- C&G 2391 / AM2 – Proficiency in testing and a strong technical understanding of various heating systems and plant, controls, and both three-phase and single-phase power.
- A basic understanding of the principles of refrigeration systems.
- Demonstrated experience in the commissioning of complex systems 50kW plus, with a focus on quality control and system optimisation, including domestic heat pump systems under 50kW.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Clean drivers’ licence.
- Staying away from home may be required.
Location: Midlands + national travel.
