Climate17 is delighted to be working with a leading North West based contractor as they look to recruit two SHEQ Advisors to join the business. One of the Advisors will be Manchester based with occasional travel to the Yorkshire region, and the other Advisor will be based primarily in the Yorkshire region and will travel to Manchester from time to time, if required. This is an excellent opportunity for two ambitious SHEQ Advisors to work on a range of projects including large infrastructure, highways and utilities and join an established business of engineers and construction professionals.
Responsibilities
- You will be technically competent in all three management systems - ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
- You will be responsible for delivering toolbox talks, assisting with risk assessments and providing SHEQ input into tender submissions.
- You will liaise with regulatory bodies such as the HSE, Environment Agency and Local Authorities.
- You’ll engage with people of all levels within the business, adapting your approach and language accordingly.
- You will conduct audits and inspections, together with risk assessments, recommending areas for improvement.
- You will help foster a culture of safety and best practice around environment and quality.
- You will be involved in maintaining and improving procedures and processes and ensure these are implemented company wide.
- You’ll put together reports for senior leaders, requiring strong written and presentation skills.
- You’ll be competent using Microsoft Office 365.
Qualifications
- At least a couple of years’ experience in a SHEQ role working on construction sites.
- NEBOSH Certificate in Construction Health & Safety, preferably a NEBOSH or ISEP Environmental Qualification.
- IOSH membership, membership of NRSWA and a CSCS card.
- Understanding of the Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015.
- Based in Manchester or Leeds area with ability to travel to sites in the North West.
- Hold a full and valid driving licence.
- Comfortable managing a number of projects at any one time and be computer literate.
