Business Development Representative

London - Hybrid - 3 Days in Office

About Us

Climate X is a purpose-driven climate adaptation data company set to revolutionise how the world manages assets, property, and infrastructure. We apply cutting-edge, peer-reviewed science to help prevent the worst impacts of climate change. We combine climate projections, remote sensing observations, and modelling to project the frequency and severity of physical climate risks such as floods, subsidence, storms, etc. Our SaaS platform lets financial institutions and real estate firms look at future climate pathways to:

  • Help identify how property/company assets could be damaged by severe weather events and what that damage might do to the asset valuations.
  • Become more resilient to climate change and make smarter investment and lending decisions.

We advocate diversity with our founders, team, and investors from various backgrounds. We are not building just a team but a place of innovation where problem solving and fun coexist to address the most significant challenge our society is facing now.

The impact you will own

As Inbound Business Development Representative, you will own a high-volume pipeline of marketing-generated leads from the US and LATAM, primarily consisting of whitepaper downloads and event attendees. Your role is to serve as the first point of contact for Climate X, rapidly qualifying and nurturing these opportunities. You will uncover prospects' climate-related challenges, educate them on how Spectra delivers value, and progress qualified leads to discovery calls with Account Executives. You will manage approximately 250 active leads, ensuring consistent follow-up and progression. Once a discovery call is complete, qualified opportunities are handed off to the AE team to advance through the sales cycle; non-ready opportunities remain under your ownership for continued nurturing until sales-ready. This is a quota-carrying role focused on pipeline velocity, qualification quality, and revenue impact.

Essential Skills

  • Previous experience in new business development and lead generation for a technology/SaaS product.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with prospects effectively.

Desirable Skills

  • Familiarity with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and sales prospecting tools.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or related field.
  • Spanish or Portuguese language skills (for LATAM engagement).

BENEFITS

  • Contribute to a business making purposeful impact related to climate change.
  • Monthly training & conference budget to help you upskill and develop your career (£1,000 per year).
  • 6 monthly appraisals and 12 monthly pay reviews.
  • Pension contribution scheme.
  • Hybrid working (3 days/week in office).
  • Mental Health and Wellbeing support via Oliva.
