The Role: We’re looking for a Data Analyst to join our team, focused on building, maintaining, and expanding our energy transition investment datasets, with an emphasis on later-stage activity such as debt, private equity, infrastructure, and project finance. The relational data you help create and maintain sits at the core of our product and is used by investors, corporates, and lenders to understand capital flows and deploy capital across the energy transition. This role is well-suited to someone who is highly detail-oriented, comfortable working with complex datasets, and motivated by data quality and accuracy.

  • Collection: Source energy transition data including deals, companies, investors, and funding data to maintain and update our investment database. Identify gaps and work with stakeholders to onboard new data sets.
  • Quality assurance: Continuously improve data quality and accuracy by identifying and resolving data inconsistencies, ensure that the data is adequately integrated.
  • Maintaining: Ensuring data points for investors and companies on our platform are updated, according to new activity and/or client requests. Identify gaps and work with business development team to onboard new data sets.
  • Research support: Work closely with the research team to manage and prepare data for analysis.
  • Key trends: Spot and highlight important shifts in the market through discussions with our research team and short written pieces.

The Essentials:

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Experience working on data sets — collection, cleaning and high-level analysis
  • Understanding of finance or energy sectors
  • Strong proficiency in Excel
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Interest in and excitement for learning about the energy transition and innovations
  • Desire to thrive in an early-stage startup environment

A Plus:

  • Experienced in SQL, Python or similar programming languages for data workflows
  • Previous internship or work experience in a related field
  • Strong analytical skills related to working with unstructured data sets
