This role requires an experienced and highly organised project manager with strong carbon project delivery experience, excellent relationship management skills, and the ability to coordinate effectively across technical, commercial, operational, and finance functions.

  • Strong large scale project management experience, ideally within NBS Carbon Projects, forestry, food security, conservation, or international development.
  • Experience managing or supporting complex field-based project delivery in emerging markets, working cross culturally.
  • Experience working with implementation partners, NGOs, community-based organisations, or field delivery teams.
  • Experience managing budgets, reporting processes, operational tracking, and project administration.
  • Understanding of ARR projects and/or nature-based carbon project delivery, including at least a basic understanding of CCB/VCS requirements.
  • Excellent project management and organisational skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong stakeholder and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and workstreams simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills across remote and cross-cultural teams.
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively across teams.
  • Financial and administrative management capability.

What the job involves:

  • Join Climate Impact Partners as Project Manager for ARR carbon projects in Kenya & the Philippines. Lead delivery, coordinate partners, and drive tangible climate impact.
  • The Project Manager will play a critical role in strengthening the successful delivery of two ARR (Afforestation, Reforestation and Revegetation) carbon projects in Kenya and the Philippines.
  • Acting as the central coordination point between in-country teams, implementation partners, and HQ functions, the role will help drive high-quality project delivery, strong operational and risk management, effective cross-functional collaboration, and timely resolution of challenges.
  • The role will also contribute to strengthening project management approaches across the wider portfolio through knowledge sharing, alignment of systems and processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • The successful candidate will understand what high-quality field delivery looks like in Nature Based Solutions carbon projects, while not necessarily needing to be a deep technical ARR specialist.
  • Support in-country Project Managers and implementation partners to ensure effective project planning and efficient and high quality implementation.
  • Track and manage project milestones, budgets, timelines, deliverables, and project documentation.
  • Ensure strong project governance, coordination, and operational management across both projects.
  • Provide trainings and coaching in Project Management capabilities to In-Country Project Managers and associated team.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with in-country partners, field teams, and other key stakeholders.
  • Coordinate regular communication, follow-up, and alignment between partners and internal teams.
  • Support management of issues, escalations, and operational challenges.
  • Work collaboratively across commercial, technical, finance, and delivery teams to support effective project implementation.
  • Support project budgeting, forecasting, financial tracking, and administrative processes.
  • Coordinate invoices, contracts, approvals, and internal reporting requirements.
  • Support, and when appropriate lead, on the delivery of accurate, timely, and high-quality internal and external reporting.
  • Ensure project data, documentation, and reporting are maintained accurately and consistently.
  • Identify operational and implementation risks early and support proactive mitigation measures.
  • Work collaboratively with partners and internal teams to troubleshoot challenges and identify practical solutions.
  • Support contingency planning and adaptive project delivery in response to changing operational realities.
  • Help ensure projects remain on track against delivery objectives and timelines.
  • Support the wider project portfolio where needed, helping strengthen consistency and quality of project management approaches.
  • Facilitate sharing of learnings, best practices, and operational improvements across projects and teams.
  • Support development and continuous improvement of project management systems, tools, reporting, and ways of working.
  • Provide flexible support across projects or teams during periods of increased operational need or capacity gaps.
