We are seeking a proactive Speaker and Events Officer to support the seamless registration of high-profile speakers and delegate acquisition at Climate Week NYC. You’ll interact directly with government officials, business leaders and influential climate advocates, lead on the invitations to our impactful roundtables, shape pre-event communications and maintain key CRM and event platforms. About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for a Speaker and Events Officer with a passion for climate action to join a dynamic and ambitious team. You will be responsible for registering speakers, ensuring they have the logistical information needed, and preparing briefing materials to ensure a seamless event experience. Additionally, you will invite senior delegates to roundtables, provide attendees with essential event details, and support sponsor engagement. Acting as a key point of contact, you will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to uphold Climate Group’s high event standards. Reporting to the Speaker and Events Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our events support Climate Group’s mission, bringing together the world’s most influential people to tackle climate change.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Speaker and Delegate Experience
- Manage speaker registration, onboarding, and briefing calls
- Oversee delegate invitations, communications, and follow-ups across our Executive Series
- Ensure seamless onsite experience for speakers and delegates
- Content and Event Delivery
- Prepare briefing packs, run sheets, and run-of-show documents
- Support sponsor content review and post-event reporting
- Project Management and Cross-Team Coordination
- Maintain agendas, workflows, and key backend systems (Grist, Cvent, ClickUp, HubSpot)
- Collaborate with internal teams and sponsors to meet deadlines
- Optimise processes and ensure consistent session delivery

- Hands-on event delivery experience, virtual or in-person, including supporting onsite speaker greeting and logistics
- Ability to produce event materials, such as briefing packs, run sheets, and run-of-show documents
- Strong proficiency in copywriting and proofreading
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across a range of cultures, levels of seniority and geographies
- Proactive, professional, and diplomatic demeanour
- Commitment to the mission of the Climate Group and having a good understanding of our areas of work
- Flexibility to work ‘U.S. friendly' hours during June-September
- Proven experience producing high-quality B2B events
- Proven experience managing senior stakeholders, including C-suite and government, with influence and constructive challenge
- Strong knowledge of climate issues and sustainability drivers
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
- Experience working within NGOs or charitable organisations

Where you’ll work
Based in our London office, near the iconic Tower Bridge, you’ll enjoy a flexible hybrid working arrangement of five days in the office over the fortnight. Our office is designed to support both collaborative work and focused individual time. It includes accessible facilities, a well-equipped gym, secure bike storage, and showers. The salary offered is £29,500 to £30,249 per annum, based on experience. Many of our people work flexibly in different ways, including part-time. To enable sustainable high performance in support of our mission, while prioritising the health and wellbeing of our people, we offer a 9-day fortnight.
