Climate Action is a mission‑led convening platform accelerating global climate solutions by connecting leaders across business, finance, policy, and civil society. This is a unique opportunity to work at the heart of that network shaping the digital voice and content presence that amplifies key global moments such as the UNFCCC Conference of the Parties (COP) and London Climate Action Week, and engages senior decision‑makers from governments, UN agencies, investors, and industry driving real‑world climate impact.

As part of the marketing team, you will take ownership of Climate Action's social media and content output across LinkedIn, newsletters, event websites, email platforms, key event stakeholders (sponsors, speakers, partners) and ClimateAction.org. From crafting compelling campaigns and speaker announcements to designing branded promotional assets and capturing live event moments, you will play a central role in growing and engaging our network of 120K+ climate and sustainability professionals. You will identify new audiences, build campaign strategies, and ensure every digital touchpoint reflects the ambition and credibility of the work we champion.

This role is ideally suited to a highly creative, organised, and proactive individual with excellent communication and English language skills, and the confidence to engage effectively with senior stakeholders and external partners. The successful candidate will have a strong ability to communicate key messages in an engaging and impactful manner across digital platforms and live events, driving audience engagement and strengthening the organisation’s global presence. A genuine passion for sustainability and climate action is essential, alongside a strong understanding of climate and sustainability terminology, trends, and sector developments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, create, schedule, and publish engaging content across LinkedIn, newsletters, event websites, email marketing platforms, ClimateAction.org, and other digital channels.
  • Write compelling social media posts, newsletters, website copy, speaker announcements, promotional materials, and event marketing content.
  • Maintain consistent brand messaging, tone of voice, and visual identity across all communication channels.
  • Design and create branded social media banners, graphics, promotional assets, and marketing materials using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar platforms.
  • Develop and execute creative social media and email marketing campaigns to promote Climate Action events, speakers, partners, and initiatives.
  • Produce high‑quality written, visual, and short‑form video content such as reels, interviews, behind‑the‑scenes footage, and event highlights.
  • Support live event coverage through real‑time social media updates, photography, interviews, and content capture during conferences and events.
  • Coordinate communications and marketing schedules to ensure timely promotion of events, webinars, and campaigns.
  • Support audience growth, event registrations, delegate sales, sponsorship lead generation, and newsletter subscriptions through targeted digital marketing strategies (social media).
  • Promote speakers, sponsors, and partners across all communication channels to maximise engagement and visibility.
  • Monitor climate, sustainability, clean energy, finance and climate policy trends, hashtags, and industry conversations to align content with relevant global topics.
  • Track social media and digital marketing performance, monitor brand and prepare weekly and monthly analytics reports, including plans and recommendations for deeper optimisation.
  • Support the creation, formatting, uploading, and maintenance of website assets and content across Climate Action event websites and ClimateAction.org to ensure accurate, engaging, and visually consistent messaging and digital customer journey experience.
  • Research audience behaviour, competitor activity, and emerging digital marketing trends to identify new engagement opportunities.
  • Support partnership, influencer, ambassador, and media collaboration opportunities aligned with climate and sustainability initiatives.
  • Contribute creative ideas for campaign innovation, audience engagement, and community growth across Climate Action’s global network.

Experience in social media post execution & management, marketing content creation, communications and/or digital marketing. Strong copywriting and storytelling skills with excellent attention to detail and the ability to adapt tone of voice across different platforms and audiences. Ability to create engaging multimedia content including graphics and social media assets [short‑form videos would be a bonus not essential]. Familiarity with social media analytics, reporting tools, and campaign performance tracking. Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, campaigns, and deadlines simultaneously. A genuine interest in sustainability, climate action, finance or environmental topics is highly desirable. Experience using platforms such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Mailchimp, WordPress, HubSpot, Hootsuite, or similar marketing and content management tools is advantageous. Experience working within a B2B events, conference, or media environment is a bonus. Creative, collaborative, and highly organised with a proactive approach to work. Passionate about sustainability, climate action, and purpose‑driven communications. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the confidence to work across teams, partners, and stakeholders. Comfortable working in a fast‑paced events, media, and campaign environment. Enthusiastic about storytelling, audience engagement, digital trends, and creative marketing innovation.
