This role is within a PE‑backed, fast‑growing company. As Transactional Finance Manager, you’ll lead a team of six who provide finance support to over 57 depots across the country, implementing new processes and systems to support our business as it expands.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Management and leadership of the finance team
  • Development and implementation of process and system improvements to enhance efficiency and scalability
  • Liaise with senior managers to implement process and systems improvements and ensure they are implemented and followed correctly
  • Manage and control the bank reconciliations process on a daily and weekly basis, ensuring bank transactions (including foreign currency transactions) are processed on a timely and accurate basis
  • Manage and develop the payroll process alongside the payroll administrator, liaising with our payroll bureau to ensure accurate and efficient payroll processing
  • Manage the purchase ledger process, ensuring robust controls over the processing and payment of invoices and providing visibility of payment schedules to enable reliable cashflow forecasting
  • Manage and develop the customer accounts reconciliation process, ensuring accounts are understandable, and ensuring payments and invoices are cleared down on a timely basis
  • Work closely with the FP&A team and other senior managers to assist with robust cashflow forecasting and budgeting process
  • Assist in the production of weekly and monthly internal control and compliance reports for review by area managers and senior management

Qualifications, skills and experience

  • Strong leadership with the ability to proactively coach and develop a team
  • Experience managing transactional finance teams
  • Good technical skills with an ability to improve processes and functionality
  • Good organisational skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
  • Strong Excel skills. SAP experience would be advantageous
  • Part/fully qualified (CIMA, ACA, ACCA) desirable
