Our client operates within the consultancy sector, delivering on strategic transformation outcomes across the public and private sectors, unlocking complexity to create meaningful and lasting impact. Throughout their history, they have shaped and delivered hundreds of programmes across public sector, defence, and infrastructure organisations, and retail and consumer goods clients.
We are seeking an exceptional 0-2pqe lawyer to join the Corporate Legal team, reporting to the Head of Legal. The Legal Counsel will support the Corporate Legal team to deliver across a diverse range of areas in the UK and internationally. This will involve working closely with other teams in the company, such as Finance, Commercial, HR and external law firms.
This newly created role (sitting separately to commercial) will be pivotal to the team, focusing on corporate legal matters such as:
- Intellectual Property – managing the intellectual property portfolio, including trademark watch notices, renewals, recording know how and digital IP assets.
- Digital – advising on the commercialisation and licensing arrangements for digital solutions created for clients, including AI governance.
- Share Scheme – administering the legal aspects of the employee equity scheme including issues of shares and buy backs.
- Data Protection – escalation point for complex data protection matters arising either from client projects or central use of data e.g. intra-group data sharing arrangements.
- Disputes and Litigation – where disputes and/or litigation arise (which could be in an employment or commercial context), advise and coordinate with external counsel where necessary to protect the legal position.
- Legal Knowledge – adding to and administering the legal knowledgebase with all the knowledge.
A qualified lawyer with approximately 0-2 years post-qualification experience working in either a top law firm or in house legal team. Very strong academics with a degree from a top University (Russell Group). Be able to communicate complex concepts clearly and sufficiently to non-legal audiences, both orally and in writing. We are happy to consider UK Qualified lawyer applicants with an interest in moving In House from a variety of commercial backgrounds. Ability to work 3 days in office (Oxfordshire or London office, essential).
